DA 8 % approved by Central Govt.

Union Cabinet approved DA 8% w.e.f. 1/1/2013.

The Union Cabinet today gave its approval to release an additional installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from 01.01.2013 at the rate of 8 percent over the existing rate of 72 percent.

Expected DA from January,2012

 All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of November, 2011 increased by 1 point and stood at 199 (one hundred & ninety nine).

AICPI-IW for the month of Dec, 2011 may be released in the last week of Jan,2012.
